With legends such as Paul McCartney and Eric Clapton, the company has spent the last 60 years redefining how people play music. Working with company owners and executives, we wanted to maintain the heritage and create modern, digital first web experience that communicates Ernie Ball's commitment to artistry, innovation, and music culture. As Art Director, I was able to work on a myriad of projects from on set photo shoots with artists and new products, to creating episodic video series’ with artists and influencers, to a complete website overhaul.

The Art of Sound

During my time as Art Director, I am thankful to have worked with countless icons of rock and roll as well as creating a campaign with designer Aaron Draplin. We hired Draplin to create a screen printed poster set and premier marketing campaign we dubbed, ‘the Colors of Rock n Roll’, and to produce a short film to showcase his design process and back story of discovering design and music.

Once the poster set was completed, we storyboarded an animated interpretation to be created by an external partner as a stunning and colorful preroll for digital marketing.

Sonic Exploration

For our website overhaul, first we created a bold new design system and helped bridge the gap between their iconic legacy and the next generation of rockstars. Next we created a world for hosting media, celebrating music and artists as well as capturing direct to consumer sales.

Elevating the Buying Experience

We redefined the way that users interact with the Ernie Ball brand by creating a clear path to discover, compare, and purchase products. We focused on distinguishing between product lines, visualizing their sound, and highlighting the engineering that makes Ernie Ball products the best in the industry.
